Sun Spots (20230114) – Bortle 7 would be more fun!

Nowadays that we have narrow band filters, even dual, triple and quad  band filters to be used with OSC cameras, we can fight light pollution efficiently: Many wonderful DeepSky images proove this, here on AstroBin.

What we still need is a capable seeing filter!

Today (20230114) the seeing was again horrible, check out my seeing animation! The subframes were taken with the shortest exposure time my ZWO ASI533MC Pro can perform: 0.032ms = 0.32µs = 1/32150s ... and there is still not a single sharp frame in the 4000 frames I took (4 series of 1000).

Today's image is thus heavily over sharpened and shows no fine detail, just muddy pixel in the penumbrae.

You may also want to check out the stacking result (5% out of 1000 frames) from PSS.
